Get ready for the
Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow (MLT) regional conference in New York City, on April 25–26, 2009!
Building on the success of the 2009 Doha conference, 100 Muslim leaders from the United States will convene for two exciting days of networking with fellow Muslim leaders and targeted media trainings with leading media specialists.
The MLT April conference will enable MLTs to more effectively promote themselves, their causes and their communities through the media. Regardless of previous experience, they will take away a wider understanding of the way American media covers Muslims and Islam, and be better prepared to proactively engage media in their own work..
At the conference, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Develop specialized media skills through trainings such as “Messaging and Framing,” “Mastering the Interview,” “Media Rapid Response”, “Relationship-Building with Media”, “Self-Generated Media,” and “Writing Op-Eds”
- Attend an evening panel discussion with prominent journalists and media personalities entitled “Covering and Uncovering Islam in the Media.”
