Update on MLT Doha Conference:
Due to limited venue accommodations in Doha, we have shifted the upcoming MLT conference date to mid-January, 2009. It will be held on the weekend of January 16-18th or January 23-25th. We are currently negotiating with the hosting hotel and will update the MLT network as soon as this date is confirmed.

Time Magazine reports on "The 99," by Naif Al-Mutawa - MLT, USA/UAE

The 99 is based on characters that each personify one of the 99 qualities attributed to God in the Qur'an. MLT Naifa Al-Mutawa created the comic-book series five years ago, giving birth to superheroes endowed with Muslim traits and virtues. The 99 is published by Teshkeel Media Group, Inc. Below, you will find some of their latest advancements.
- Teshkeel is now proposing to bring an animated series of The 99 to worldwide television. A formal announcement of their chosen partner will be made soon.
- Recent licensing arrangements for The 99 in France, Spain, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Turkey, and throughout the Middle East are products of its great value and readers' constant 'buzz.'
-Scheduled to open this Fall, "The 99 Village" theme park in Jahra, Kuwait is under construction, the first of many.

Leyla Çakir to attend ICETh conference, Young Apeldoorn conference, and International Congress on Islamic Feminism - MLT, Netherlands
The Interreligious Conference of European Women Theologians (ICETh) will hold a conference from the 21st-24th of August, outside Stockholm, Sweden. The ICETh is an association of women theologians which aims to strengthen the theological, spiritual and institutional-political exchange between Muslim women in Europe.
The third Young Apeldoorn Conference will take place between the 12th and 14th of October at the Grand Opera House, in Belfast. This conference will include participants regarded as highly relevant within their respective fields, mainly in politics, business, government or the media.
The Third International Congress on Islamic Feminism has been announced by Junta Islàmica Catalana (Catalonian Islamic Board) and will take place in Barcelona, 24th-27th of October. The conference will focus on the problems of Muslim women in the Global era. The Congress will consider the responses given by Islamic feminists to this situation, and their contribution towards the construction of a new civil society worldwide based on a culture of human rights and Qur’anic values, such as democracy, social justice, freedom of conscience and gender equality.
